This special ministry services the Catholic residents of Masconomet Nursing Home in Topsfield. Oftentimes, these residents are prevented from celebrating the Eucharist with the rest of the St. Rose of Lima community because of illness. In receiving the Body and Blood of Christ, they are reunited sacramentally to the Lord, as well as with the Eucharistic community.
Each Tuesday, our members meet at St. Rose of Lima church at 3:00 P.M. We pick up the pyx and hosts, pray, then proceed to the nursing home. At 6:00 P.M., we help bring residents down to the Activities Room where we hold an hour-long prayer service. We sing songs, voice prayer intentions, recite the rosary, and close by assigning prayer partners for the following week's service. We then assist in bringing the residents back to their rooms.
